UPS prices in Sri Lanka start at approximately Rs.9,200 for a basic computer UPS in the researched listings. Selected 1200VA models cost around Rs.19,990–24,000, while larger line-interactive and online systems cost considerably more.

The right purchase depends on what you need to power and for how long. A router requiring several hours of backup has different needs from a gaming PC that needs five minutes for a safe shutdown.

This guide compares advertised prices, explains UPS types, and highlights the specifications and ownership costs buyers should check.

Price snapshot: 20 October 2026. Prices vary by payment method, availability, battery configuration, and warranty. SellX sells some featured products. This guide uses catalogue research and manufacturer documentation; products have not been independently runtime-tested.

These are individual advertised offers, not guaranteed market-wide prices.

PRO2000SFC and PRO2000SFCU are different model designations. Likewise, eMark GM4 and POE-532P are separate products. Compare exact specifications before treating their price differences as savings.

For Model 1075, confirm output watts and battery inclusion. The EAST EA903P listing currently writes capacity as “3KV”; request its rated kVA and watts before ordering.

2. Offline, Line-Interactive, Online or Mini DC UPS?

Offline or standby UPS: Supplies utility power to equipment and transfers to battery when necessary. It suits straightforward backup requirements when capacity and transfer characteristics match the equipment.

Line-interactive UPS: Adds automatic voltage regulation to correct a specified range of voltage variations without using the battery. These models commonly serve desktop and home-office applications.

Online double-conversion UPS: Converts AC to DC and back to AC during normal double-conversion operation. It supports applications requiring tighter power continuity. Assess fan noise, efficiency, maintenance, and installation requirements.

Mini DC UPS: Supplies compatible routers, ONTs, and other DC devices directly. Check individual outputs and the combined power limit.

Eaton’s UPS fundamentals handbook explains these technologies and their operating differences.

3. How to Choose the Right UPS Capacity

Measure the combined consumption of your computer, monitor, router, and other protected devices.

Check both watts and VA. A UPS must support the connected load within both limits.

For an assumed 400W combined load, an illustrative 80% loading target suggests at least 500W rated output. You must still check VA, transient demands, compatibility, and runtime.

A PC with a 750W power supply does not constantly consume 750W. Actual wall consumption depends on its components and workload.

For gaming PCs, confirm the exact power supply and UPS pairing. Prolink’s SFCU series documentation identifies simulated-sine output. A larger VA rating does not establish pure-sine output or compatibility.

For router backup, match voltage, polarity, connector size, and current requirements. A connector fitting physically does not establish electrical compatibility.

4. How Much Backup Time Can You Expect?

VA capacity alone cannot establish runtime. Backup duration depends on connected load, usable battery energy, battery condition, discharge characteristics, and conversion losses.

For example, a router and ONT consuming an assumed 15W together need 60Wh of delivered energy for four hours. Nominal battery energy must be higher because losses and discharge limits reduce what reaches the devices.

Compare watt-hours where available. An advertised mAh figure needs its reference voltage before it describes stored energy.

For desktops, decide whether you need time to save work and shut down or continued operation through a longer outage.

Request a manufacturer runtime curve for the exact model at your measured load. Router backup also cannot guarantee that the internet provider’s upstream network remains operational.

5. Battery Replacement, Warranty and Hidden Costs

Compare the complete purchase cost: payment-method charges, delivery, batteries, required adapters, installation, and servicing.

Research examples put standalone 7–7.2Ah replacement batteries around Rs.4,600–5,500. A listed Prolink 8.2Ah battery costs approximately Rs.6,000 each. A compatible two-battery replacement could therefore cost Rs.12,000 before labour.

Confirm battery quantity, chemistry, dimensions, terminals, and manufacturer requirements. Matching voltage alone is insufficient.

Ask separately about electronics and battery warranties. A two-year unit warranty does not necessarily include two years of battery coverage.

Heat and discharge frequency also affect battery life. Schneider Electric’s VRLA battery guidance explains why ventilation and operating conditions matter.

For larger online systems, request a complete quotation: some headline prices exclude external batteries and installation.

6. FAQs About UPS Prices in Sri Lanka

What is the starting computer UPS price in Sri Lanka?

The researched entry-level listings start around Rs.9,200. Confirm current availability and specifications.

Is a 650VA UPS enough for a desktop?

Only if its verified watts, VA, compatibility, and runtime support the complete setup.

Can one mini UPS power a router and ONT?

Yes, if its outputs, combined load limit, and usable energy meet both devices’ requirements.

Which UPS offers the best value?

Choose the model that meets your measured load and required runtime with clear warranty and replacement costs.

Compare exact configurations before buying. Explore networking and power devices, or request advice using your equipment details and required backup duration.
